Steps to extend or shorten the timeout period.

Instructions

  1. Go to Tools > Account Settings or click on the school name in the main menu.

  2. In Security, go to School-wide Login Timeouts and select one of the following:

    • 20 mins (default)

    • 30 mins

    • 1 hour

    • 2 hours

    • 6 hours

  3. Click Submit.

  4. Going forward, users will now be automatically signed out if they have not used Messenger within your selected time limit.

    • Note: Per GDPR, you must keep secure any platform containing personal information of your school community. Be aware of your staff's responsibilities, and the implications, of increasing the login timeout window before you change this setting. Consult with your organisation's DPO before you make any change.
