Messages delivered to handset
|
The message has been delivered successfully.
|
|
Submitted
|
This is the initial status until the message is either Delivered or another status is returned. There may be a short delay, especially when sending to many mobile numbers, between submitting your message and it being sent by the SMS provider.
|
|
Failed
|
The message failed to deliver to the recipient’s mobile device.
|
|
Buffered
|
The message failed initially and is now being retried.
|
|
Expired
|
The message expired as it could not be delivered within the validity period which is usually 3 days.
|
|
Rejected
|
The message was rejected by the Short Message Service Centre.
|
|
Error
|
The message could not be processed by the Short Message Service Centre this time.
|
|
Unknown
|
This is usually generated after 24 hours if no status has been returned from the Short Message Service Centre or they returned a non-standard status code.
|
|
Messages sent to unreachable recipient
|
The mobile number was deemed unreachable e.g., the number is invalid.
|
|
Messages rejected by operator
|
The message format and/or mobile number was incorrect and not recognised by operator.
|
|
Messages not delivered during validity period
|
The message could not be delivered within the validity period set by the SMS provider which is usually 3 days.
|
|
Messages queued for delivery at Dynmark
|
The message is still inside the SMS provider platform and is waiting for submission to the mobile network.
|
|
Messages queued for delivery at SMSC
|
The message has left the SMS provider platform and been submitted successfully to the Short Message Service Centre.
|
|
Messages sent to handset with full SIM
|
Most mobile devices forward the message from SIM card to phone memory. This rare error may occur on older mobiles which only keep them in the SIMS card.

|
Messages SMSC was not able to send
|
The Short Message Service Centre was not able to find the mobile device’s network or it is/was down. This may not be the network itself, but the transmitter tower dropping message packets.

|
Messages to user with no credit
|
Used for premium messaging. Networks usually sends a free text prompt to top-up before attempting to send the message again.
|
|
Messages with no response from Mobile Operator
|
When a message needs to be forwarded from one operator to another, issues may occur between them and this error could be returned if the retry schedule has exceeded the allowed limit.
|
|
Messages deleted by user
|
Message status was manually updated to “deleted” from the SMS provider platform. This cannot be resent.
|
|
Messages refused
|
Message has been refused by the network without attempting to forward to another network or mobile device.
|
